Looks delicious! I tried last night and it was a fail – my caramel turned out hard, like butterscotch hardcandy. Any idea as to what went wrong?

Jackie! It really is wonderful and you should definitely use your homemade strawberry jam! Smoked turkey sounds wonderful too, it’d probably make a better pair with the strawberry jam than store-bought deli meat!

Yum!! Sounds wonderful…and I made strawberry jam this year. Hubby just smoked a turkey on our Big Green Egg…think I’ll use some of that instead of the meat slices.

Ally, don’t forget to get the flaky kind! It makes a difference too as the miniature flakes melt into your tongue and oh-so-wonderfully enhance the flavor and creamy richness of the caramel!
